I agree, the big majority in SV ask for minority stake, but to my surprise, I attended an event last week where the speaker talked about how some VCs in the valley asked a company he is helping out 60% equity! It’s stupid and rare I know, but apparently it happens here too! I think that’s one of the reasons why some VCs excel while others never get into good deals even here in the valley.
